Classic on a Raspberry Pi
| Part | Typical price |
|---|---|
| Raspberry Pi Zero 2 WH The computer inside your wallet. Get the WH version: the H means the pin header is already soldered on. A plain Zero 2 W needs a header soldered on. Search on Amazon | $15–$22 |
| Waveshare 1.3inch OLED HAT Screen and buttons: 128×64 pixels, the same as the OneKey Classic, plus a joystick and three keys. Make sure it says OLED, not LCD. Search on Amazon | $11–$16 |
| microSD card, 16 or 32 GB Holds the Pi's operating system and your wallet. Any well-known brand. Search on Amazon | $7–$10 |
| Micro-USB data cable Connects the wallet to your computer and powers it. Pick one whose other end fits your computer (USB-A or USB-C). It must carry data; some cheap cables only charge. Search on Amazon | $5–$9 |
| microSD card reader (optional) Only if your computer has no card slot. Needed once, to put the operating system on the card. Search on Amazon | $6–$10 |
| Pi Zero case with room for a HAT (optional) Protects the boards. Check the listing says it fits a HAT on top. Search on Amazon | $6–$12 |
Prices are typical US prices in October 2026. The search links open Amazon, but any electronics shop that sells Raspberry Pi parts is fine.
Buying tips
- Buy the Zero 2 WH, with the H. It comes with the 40-pin header already soldered on, so the screen simply pushes onto it. A Zero 2 W without the H needs soldering.
- Check the screen says OLED. Waveshare also sells a 1.3inch LCD HAT that looks similar. It has a different screen and will not work with this guide.
- Buy from a large shop or an official Raspberry Pi reseller. These boards are made in the millions for schools, robots and home projects. Nobody can guess which one will end up as a wallet, which is the point.
- Use a cable that carries data. If your computer later doesn’t notice the wallet at all, a charge-only cable is the usual reason.
Check what arrived
- The Pi has a row of 40 pins along one edge and says Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W on the board.
- The screen board says 1.3inch OLED HAT, has a small joystick on one side and three keys marked KEY1, KEY2 and KEY3 on the other.
- Nothing looks opened, re-soldered or glued. These are simple boards; anything extra on them is a reason to return them.
